Get Involved in Student Government
The main way to get involved with SGA is through the House of Student Representatives — the elected voice of the TCU student body. House works to enhance the student experience by fulfilling SGA’s purpose to fund, advocate, and unite the undergraduate student body. With 56 seats available for undergraduate students, there are plenty of opportunities to represent your peers and make a difference. Students can join House in one of two ways: by running for election or applying to fill a vacancy. No matter your path, it’s a great way to get involved and create positive change on campus. For more information on these two avenues of involvement, please see the information below:
Fall Elections
Elections for all 56 seats in the House of Student Representatives are held at the beginning of each fall semester, with positions assigned based on the academic college of your declared major. Prior experience in student government is not required — only a commitment to representing your peers and contributing to student life. Comprehensive information, including candidate eligibility, deadlines, and application instructions, can be found on the House Elections page of this website.
Vacancies
Occasionally, a seat in House may become vacant during the academic year. When this occurs, the SGA Recruitment & Retention Committee conducts an application and interview process to fill the position. Vacancy applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and students need only apply once per academic year to be considered. If a relevant vacancy arises, the committee will reach out to applicants in the pool that meet the vacancy qualifications to begin the interview process. For further information, including current-year contact details, please visit the Vacancies section of this website.
